The new 2008 Chevrolet Camaro is set to make another history

It has been six months after the Camaro Concept debuted at the Detroit Auto Show, where it has enthralled a lot of fans and spectators and General Motors being able to gauge the public’s positive reaction decided to greenlight this vehicle for production.

The 2008 Camaro sport coupe has been engineered to appeal to the new-generation enthusiasts while still retaining the spirit and style of the legendary first-generation Camaros which has now been one of the most sought after collector cars.

The new Chevy Camaro promises optimum performance and excellent driving capabilities. It has a 6.0-liter V-8 engine with 4000-hp output that can deliver more than 30 mpg. Aside from GM’s Active Fuel Management which aims to maximize fuel saving capabilities, it also boasts of a rear-wheel drive chassis.

It also comes equipped with a fully independent suspension with gas-pressurized dampers and progressive-rate springs along with a six-speed manual transmission that promotes impressive acceleration and efficiency for highway driving experience.

2008 Chevrolet Camaro - Rear
As what many had anticipated, the 2008 Camaro is GM’s answer to the successful 2005 Mustang. The said vehicle will likely to grace showrooms sometime next year but even this early, I can already predict another soaring demand for Chevrolet Camaro parts from various auto parts stores soon. And if the new Camaro will be priced closely to (if not lower than) the Mustang, then it will probably be a hot-seller also, giving GM a much needed boost in sales.
