US Carmakers Heat up European Market

Ford, Dodge, Chevrolet and Cadillac are now heating up the European market with the revved up features and styles of the models included in their line-up. The refreshed models will be launched at the Geneva Auto Show with changes that are meant to match the trails and terrains of Europe. The demand for better fuel economy and gas mileage is also answered by the improved power trains.

First in line is the bold American style of Dodge with the Dodge Caliber hatchback and the Dodge Nitro SUV. Dieter Zetsche, Chief Executive of DaimlerChrysler's U.S. group, proudly said that Dodge is considered as the most American of all the brands in their line–up. They expect sales to increase from 90, 000 units sold last year to approximately 120,000 this year. That’s about 1.4% sales increase. In general, the cars are geared up with more muscle and power to attract more male buyers.

The American carmakers have one goal in mind: to set up a base that will strengthen their roots and to increase their share in the European market although they differ in their marketing system and strategies. The competition is tough especially with the Asian carmakers around now growing in. That’s it for now. Have to go now since I have lots of tasks lined up for today including dropping by at Auto Parts Discount for new oxygen sensor replacement. Till then!
